On this tour you will gain insights into the soul of Tibet culture as you explore the major religious monuments and “power places” of the country and meet the indomitable Tibetan people who maintain their spiritual identity in the face of overwhelming odds.
Day 1 Arrive in Lhasa airport, meet your guide, and transfer you to Tsetang Enroute visit to Dranang monastery, Mindrolin monastery.
Day 2 Tsetang: Visit to samye monastery in the morning, and then return to Tsetang visit to Yongbu Lhakhang and Tandrue monastery
Day 3 Tsetang to Gyantse via Yamdrok Lake: Departure in the morning to Yamdrok lake, which is one of the 4 holyiest lake of Tibet, then after descending from Gambala pass to Gyantse.
Day 4 Gyantse to Shigartse: Visit to Pelkhor monastery and Gyantse kumbum in the morning, then drive to Shiagrtse to visit Tashilhunphuk monastery.
Day 5 Shigartse to Namtso Lake: Deaprture in the morning, a full day drive to Namtso Lake; which is thought to be the highest Salt-lake of Tibetan plateau.
Day 6 Namtso Lake to Reting monastery: Reting is a place where covers Juniper forests. Reting Monastery is an historically important Buddhist monastery in central Tibet, was founded by Atisha’s chief disciple Dromtonpa in 1056 in the Reting Tsampo Valley north of Lhasa as the seat of the Kadampa lineage. Tsongkapa reformed the Kadampa School which then became known as New Kadampa or Gelug School and Reting became an important Gelugpa monastery, the seat of the Reting Rinpoche.
Day 7 Reting monastery to Lhasa via Ganden monastery: Ganden monastery has extremely delicate and fine murals and sculptures. The most important and valuable arts left are the paintings of Buddha and Jataka stories drawn by the First Panchen Lama.
Day 8 & 9 Lhasa: You will visit Potala Palace, Jokhang temple, Barkhor Bazar, Sera, Drepung, Nechung monasteries and Ramoche temple.
Day 10 Lhassa to the airport for departure.
