Nepalese, Tibetan and Chinese Culture (ST02)
This trip is an insight into different lifestyles of different groups of people on this planet, from the Himalyan kingdom to the middle of China. It offers a chance to interact, understand more about the cultures of Sherpa, Tibetan and Chinese people.
Day 2 Katmandu: Full day visit of Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, Patan, Bhadgaon (Bhaktapur).
Day 3 Katmandu to Zhangmu: Drive to Kodari, acrossing through Friendship-bridge, then meet with Tibetan guide, drive onto Zhangmu.
Day 4 Zhangmu to Tingri: En-route, enjoy the stunning view of the Himalayan range of Mt. Everest, overnight in Tingri.
Day 5 Tingri to Sakya: After arrive at Sakya, visit to Sakya monastery.
Day 6 Sakya to Shigartse: Drive to Shiagrste, where to visit Tashilunphuk monbastery, which is the monastery for Panchen Lama.
Day 7 Shigartse to Lhasa via Gyantse: Today, you will visit to Gyantse Palkhor chode, then passing through Yamdrok Lake to Lhasa.
8 & 9: Lhasa: Visit Potala Palace, Jokhang temple, Barkhor street, Sera, Drepung and Nechung monasteries
Day 10 Lhasa to Chengdu: By flight to Chengdu, airport pickup, drive to visit Panda Breeding Base, visit to the traditional Chinese tea-house.
Day 11 Chengdu, Taiyan, Pingyao: Chengdu to Taiyuan then by vehicle to Pingyao of which during the Qing Dynasty, Pingyao was a financial center of China. It is now renowned for its well-preserved ancient city wall, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Day 12 Pinyao: Today you will spend one full day to explore the ancient city of Pingyao.
Day 13 Pinyao to Beijing via Yuci: Today you will begin this day by driving to Yuci to visit Jin-Ci temple, then by noon departure flight to Beijing.
Day 14 Beijing: In the morning, drive to visit Tian’anmen Square, and Forbidden city; in the afternoon, a tour by rickshaw for visiting Hutong.
Day 15 Beijing to the airport for departure.
