Day 1: Arrival in Lhasa – Visit Norbulingka
Arrive at Lhasa Gonggar Airport. En route to your hotel, pause at the cliffside Nie-Tang Buddha, a massive stone carving of Shakyamuni. In the afternoon, explore Norbulingka Palace, the former summer residence of the Dalai Lamas. It is now a tranquil park and cultural site.

Day 2: Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple & Barkhor Street
Begin with a tour of the Potala Palace, the spiritual and political seat of past Dalai Lamas. Continue to Jokhang Temple, the holiest site in Tibetan Buddhism. Experience the atmosphere of devotion as you stroll through Barkhor Street, a traditional kora route and bustling marketplace.

Day 3: Drak Yerpa Meditation Caves & Yamdrok Lake
Visit the ancient hermit caves of Drak Yerpa, a sacred meditation retreat with over 80 caves. In the afternoon, drive to Yamdrok Lake, one of Tibet’s four holy lakes, surrounded by majestic snow-capped peaks and rolling hills. If accessible, view Samding Monastery across the water.

Day 4: Departure from Lhasa

Do I need to worry about altitude sickness in Lhasa?
