Amdo was and is the home of many important Tibetan Buddhist monks, scholars who had a major influence on both politics and religious development of Tibet. The 2 best places for starting your adventures through Amdo are Xining and Chengdu. Both of these cities have very convenient public transportation to connect each other. On the route from Xining to Chengdu, which covers many interesting religious sites and nature wonders, such as: Songpan, Jiuzhiagou National Park, Ruo’ergai, Langmusi, Labrang monastery and Rebkong county.
