Flood in Sichuan

The recent heavy rain has caused some landslides and flood in the west, and northwest of Chengdu; the areas that have problems are the counties of Wenchuan, Beichuan…etc, these are areas between Chengdu and Jiuzhai valley; especially the areas of Wenchuan, Maoxian counties;

The road leads to Kangding via Shimian has been temporarily blocked due to one part of the road was washed out by the flood, the road will be available maybe in the middle of this week;

for the moment, the only way to get to Kngding via land is from Chengdu to Yaan, then through Tian’quan to Mt. Erlang;
