The eastern region of Tibet, Known as Kham, incorporates the eastern Tibetan autonormous Region (TAR), Western Sichuan and Northwest Yunnan.
It is nowadays regarded as the territory of the Western Sichuan – the Kanze or Garze Tibetan Prefecture) and Northwest Yunnan – the Shangri-La and Deqin counties). This region is thought to be the “off-beaten” region due to its harsh road condition, and ‘wild’ living custom of locla Kangphas;
