Embark on a breathtaking overland journey through the heart of Tibet to the foot of the world’s highest peak—Mount Everest, known locally as Qomolangma.   • Altitude: The journey reaches up to 5,500m. Please allow time for proper acclimatization and consult your physician if necessary.
  • Permits: The Tibet Travel Permit is included, but bookings must be confirmed at least 25 days in advance.
  • Base Camp Access: Since 2019, direct access to Everest Base Camp is restricted. However, panoramic views are available from Rongphuk Monastery.
  • Season: The best travel season is from April to October for clear skies and moderate temperatures.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Lhasa (3,650m)

Meet your Tibetan guide at the airport/train station. Stop to see the cliff-carved Nie-Tang Buddha en route to your hotel. In the afternoon, enjoy a relaxing stroll at Norbulingka, the Dalai Lama’s former summer residence.

Day 2: Lhasa City Tour
  • Potala Palace – The spiritual heart of Tibetan governance and architecture.
  • Jokhang Temple – Home to Tibet’s most revered Buddha statue.
  • Barkhor Street – A vibrant market looped by pilgrims in devotional circuits.

Day 3: Lhasa Monasteries

Day 4: Lhasa – Gyantse – Shigatse (3,900m)

Drive over Kampa La Pass with panoramic views of Yamdrok Lake. Pass by the Karola Glacier and visit Gyantse’s Palcho Monastery and Kumbum Stupa before continuing to Shigatse.

Day 5: Shigatse – Rongphuk Monastery (5,000m)

Scenic drive through Himalayan terrain via Tingri to reach Rongphuk Monastery. Weather permitting, witness stunning views of Mount Everest.

Day 6: Everest Sunrise – Return to Shigatse

Enjoy sunrise over Mount Everest, followed by a short hike. Return to Shigatse via the same route.
