2026 Repkong Festival will be held in Repkong (Tongren) county which is known as the “Homeland of Thangka.” This festival is held annually in this county, it is also called “Repkong Monlam Festival”. During this festival, you will watch the stunning Tibetan art performances in Wutun village, along with other religious performances. Please note due to the tradition of Bon sect of Tibetan religion that two monasteries in Wutun village are not accept visit by female

D2 Xining to Repkong (Tongren)
In the morning, we will depart for Repkong, which is the “old“ name of this county, currently it is called Tongren. The road to this county is well paved, it takes about 2.5 hours to complete the drive. En route we will visit to Wutun village, and Wutun monastery.

Today, we will get to Upper Wutun Monastery to witness Thangkar Unfolding

D4 Repkong (Tongren) – attending Repkong festival
Today we will drive to Gomar Monastery to witness Monlam Festival, and then we will get back to Wutun monastery for the program of “Maitreya Transportation”

D5 Tongren County – attending Repkong Festival
Today, we will get to Upper Wutun to view the Monk Mask Dance which is played by the Yellow Sect monks

D6 Repkong (Tongren) return to Xining
Today, we will depart early from Tongren county, we shall go straight to Kumbum monastery, which also known as “Taer monstery”; It is one of the 6 great gelug pa monastery; then after we will drive back to Xining to explore the larges mosque of Dongguan Mosque
