Day 1: Arrival in Lhasa
Upon your arrival at Lhasa Airport, you will be warmly greeted by your local guide and transferred to your hotel. On the way, stop to visit the Nie-Tang Buddha, a magnificent image of Buddha carved into the face of a mountain. In the afternoon, enjoy a leisurely walk through Norbulingka, the former summer residence of the Dalai Lama, known for its lush gardens and intricate Tibetan architectural style.

Day 2: Lhasa City Exploration
Start your day at the world-renowned Potala Palace, the majestic winter residence of the Dalai Lama, and a masterpiece of Tibetan architecture. Then proceed to Jokhang Temple, Tibet’s most sacred shrine, home to the revered statue of Shakyamuni Buddha. Conclude the day with a visit to Barkhor Street, a lively marketplace and spiritual hub where pilgrims walk the sacred kora circuit.

Day 3: Monastery Tour in Lhasa
Today, dive deeper into Tibetan Buddhist culture. Visit Sera Monastery, famous for its vibrant monk debates; Drepung Monastery, once the largest in the world with over 10,000 monks; and Nechung Monastery, the traditional seat of Tibet’s State Oracle.

Day 4: Journey to Shigatse via Gyantse
Depart Lhasa and travel towards Shigatse via Gyantse. En route, admire the turquoise waters of Yamdrok Lake, one of Tibet’s holiest lakes, and the stunning Karola Glacier. In Gyantse, explore the Kumbum Stupa and Palcho Monastery before continuing onward to Shigatse.

Day 5: Drive to Old Tingri
Travel southwest to Old Tingri, located 60 kilometers from Tingri proper. Here, enjoy panoramic views of Mount Everest and Mount Cho Oyu. Spend the rest of the day preparing for your trek.

Day 6: Trekking – Day 1
Start your trekking adventure with a 14-kilometer drive southeast of Tingri to the trailhead. The route ascends to Lamna La Pass (5,100 m), covering approximately 20 kilometers and requiring 8–9 hours of trekking.

Day 7: Trekking – Day 2
After breakfast, continue on foot through remote valleys and grasslands. Descend to an altitude of around 4,800 meters, covering 22–24 kilometers. Along the way, you may meet nomadic herders and gain insights into their lifestyle.

Day 8: Trekking – Day 3
Today’s route spans 25 kilometers and takes you past Dza Rongbuk Gompa, a small yet historically rich monastery. Continue trekking to Rongphuk Monastery, reaching by late afternoon.

Day 9: Leisure Day at Rongphuk Monastery
Enjoy a well-deserved day of rest at Rongphuk Monastery, one of the highest monasteries in the world. Relish the breathtaking views of Mount Everest and reflect on your journey in this serene, spiritual setting.
Overnight: Rongphuk Monastery Guesthouse

Day 10: Return to Shigatse
Begin the scenic return drive to Shigatse, passing through mountain passes with final views of Everest. Upon arrival, visit the magnificent Tashilhunpo Monastery, seat of the Panchen Lama.

Day 11: Drive Back to Lhasa
Follow the Yarlung Tsangpo River eastward, cross the Qushui Bridge, and continue back to Lhasa. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and relax.

Do I need a Tibet Travel Permit?
Yes. We apply for your Tibet Travel Permit at least 25 days in advance. A scanned passport copy is required.
Is altitude sickness a concern?

Are yaks provided for carrying luggage?
