Description

Tibet Everest Trek begins some 20 kilometers southwest from Tingri, where a so-called “view-Platform” allows you standseveral meters higher to enjoy the panorama view of Mt Everest and Mt Choyo. If weather would be good, the over 8000 meters high peaks are vividly in front you.

The total distance of this trek is about 70 kilometers, the trek begins at an altitude of 4,800 meters and reaches 5,200 meters on the way. The trail curves through the small Tingri plain, leading south into the mountains toward Everest Mountain; Along the Ra-chu Valley, there is an extensive meadow with beautiful valley scenery, which is a summer pasture of local nomads. There are chances for you to meet those who herd yaks and sheep in the summer. Tibet Everest Trek is not only a challenge to your physical condition, and that will surely be rewarded.

D1 Arrive in Lhasa

Arrive in Lhasa airport, meet your guide, and then drive to your hotel. En route, we’ll visit to Nie-Tang Buddha, a Buddha image engraved in the face of the mountain. In the afternoon we’ll take a walk to Norbulingka, the former summer palace of Dalai Lama.

D2 Lhasa tour

We’ll visit Potala Palace, Jokhang temple and Barkhor Street.
Potala Palace , the winter palace of the Dalai Lama dominates the skyline of Lhassa atop the crest of Marpo Ri hill, the seventh-century Potala is considered Lhasa’s holiest destination for a pilgrimage. Going up the hill, a stone path leads to the 14-story, 1,000-room. Each day, thousands of pilgrims give the prayer wheels a clockwise spin as they make their way to the entrance.
The Jokhang Temple is the home of the statutes of the revered Buddha, Shakyamuni. While all Buddhist statues are adorned with colorful brocade, pearls, turquoise, coral, and silver, solid gold bowls of holy water rest before Shakyamuni as well as offerings of Yuan (money) and khatas (scarves) left by pilgrims. Then after we will stroll around in the Barkhor street

D3 Lhasa tour

Visit Sera, Drepung, and Nechung monasteries.
Sera Monastery, one of the Six Great Monasteries of Gelug Pa, located at the foot of Hill Tatipu. It is as prestigious as Drepung and Ganden, which had a longer history. Sera in Tibetan means “Wild Rose Garden” since opulent wild rose woods once grew around it.
Drepung monastery once housed 10,000 monks and if we’re lucky, we’ll ease into a dark columned hall to see and hear the lilting, booming chanting of the sutras, or sit under a willow tree and watch the monks engage in theatrical debate.
Nechung Monastery the seat of Nechung, Tibet’s State Oracle. Major decisions of the state are made in consultation with the Nechung Oracle.

D4 Lhasa to Shigatse via Gyantse

Depart from Lhasa, the first spot we will reach at after about 2 hours drive is Yamdrok Lake. We will have a unforgettable panorama view of this highland lake at Kangpa La (5,050 meters), then drive to visit Karola glacier via Simila then to Gyantse. There, you’ll visit the Gyantse Palcho monastery and Gyantse Kumbum ; after the visit,drive toward Shigatse for overnight.

D5 Shigartse to The Old Tingri

We will depart for The Old Tingri, which is about 60 kilometers southwest from Tingri. We will spend the rest of the day to getting ready for the trek where you’re welcome to enjoy a panoramic view of Mt. Everest and Mt. Cho Oyu from the old Tingri.

D6 Trek – day 1, Depart from The Old Tingri

In the evening before this day, we will have our gear loaded in the Donkey or Horse cart to set-out a night before. In the morning, we will take the vehicle the start of this trek, which is about 14 kilometers southeast from Tingri. The trek altitude begins at 4,550 meters. The trail gradually ascends to Lamna La, which is about 5,100 meters. On this day we will spend 8 to 9 hours on the trail to cover approximately 20 kilometer

D7 Trek – day 2

After having a nice breakfast, we will pack up tent and all other gears, continuing the trek, which leads to the inhabited area. If you’re lucky, we may encounter some nomads, at an altitude descending to 4,800 meters more or less and is roughly 22-24 kilometers on the road. The view along the trail is stunning.

D8 Trek – day 3

Today we will walk about another 25 kilometers. During the trek, the altitude is the same as what we experienced in the 2 previous days. En route we will detour of Dza Rongbuk Gompa, a small monastery with long history, and due to its harsh traffic condition, this site is almost “frozen” in this place which give us a chance to see the religious site as it was alike when it was built. We will reach the Rongphuk monastery late this afternoon and the 3 day trek ends at Rongphuk monastery.

D9 Rongphuk Monastery

Today, we will have one relaxing day in Rongphu monastery, in which we will walk around and enjoy the great view of Mt Everest

D10 Rongphu to Shigatse

Today we will be on our way return, en route we will pass through the pass for the last panorama view of Everest. After reaching the road intersection, we will trun to north following the main road heading northeast to Shigatse , where we will visit to Tashilhunpo Monastery, the 2nd largest monastery in the central Tibet

D11 Shigartse to Lhasa

Today we will drive along with Yarlung Tsanpo river downstream to Qushui bridge, where we turn to east to Lhasa, when arriving at your hotel, check in, rest

Overnight: Dekang Hotel — Include | Breakfast — Include | Lunch and Dinner — Not include

D12 Lhasa departure

Your tour ends today, you will be driven to Lhasa airport for your departure
