Description

Kangding Hike fits almost all visitors even for young kids. This outdoor tour does not require much experience in mountains that healthy people is OK to do this trek without problem. During the 3 days trek, you may encounter the wildlife, such like wild deer, and enjoy the stunning nature view of snow-capped mountain peaks…,

The hiking area is in the eastern Tibet of Kangding, which is the gateway town onto the Tibetan Plateau. Since the new High-way being completed, the journey to Kangding from Chengdu can be done within 4 hours. It is very convenient to get to Kangding nowadays

The hiking distance is about 32 kilometers. For those whom want to make it longer and walking more distance, an extension of 2 more days with extra about 35 kilometers walk is available. During this 2 days extension, there is a pass with altitude of nearly 5000 meters that requires certain physical condition and experience. Please contact us first to know more about this “trek-extension”

Be advised: included yaks are used for carry tent, food and other camping gears, staff’s bags, and each client has 20 kg free carried bags; if you may need yaks to carry your extra bags, we can assist you to rent one, you can pay local

Itinerary

D1 Arrive in Chengdu

Meet your guide at the airport or train station, drive to your hotel to check in. In the afternoon feel free to take a relaxing sightseeing visit to the traditional Chinese Tea-house at People’s park.

D2 Chengdu to Kangding

We will depart early, the drive may take 4 hours, after arrive in Kangding, we will check in hotels, and then arranging horse and Tibetan, prepare for the trekking

D3 Trek Day 1

We’ll begin the trek by departing from Kangding by vehicle to Dzonggu village, where we load the baggage onto local horses. The hike is about 5-6 hours where we’ll cross bushland and trees, the land view is wide, through the valley to reach the camp by the east slop of Yarla Yartso mountain. It is said to be one of the nine holy mountains in the remote antiquity, which is the holy mountain and to resemble a white yak.

D4 Trek Day 2

From the camp we’ll depart for the first pass and onto the grassland to enjoy the scenery at Yarla Yartso Mountain. Then, we’ll descend to the bottom of the valley, to camp by the beautiful holy lake of Yalar Yotso.

D5 Trek Day 3, Trek ends, to Lhagang

We’ll depart from the camp, where we’ll take another trail onto the last pass to descend to the spot that our vehicle waits, load up our gear to the vehicle, we will see goodby to our Tibetan supporting Crew, and then we will drive to onto Bamei county, where we turn to east. En route, detour the great mani pile of Kham in Manijiaguo village. We will spend the night at Tagong, where we will visit to Lhagang monastery

D6 Lhagang to Chengdu

Today, we will be on our way back to Chengdu. En route, we will detour Luding Iron Bridge. Then after, we’ll go straight back to Chengdu, check in your hotel, you will have your time free.

D7 Chengdu departure

Your journey ends today, you will be driven to the airport for departure
