Larima village is a small village located in a quiet valley some 63 kilometers east from Xinlong (Nyarong ) county. A narrow jeep-able dirt road cross over two passes, of which are both over 4500ms to link this village with Nyarong.

Brief

The drive takes nearly 2 hours to complete this distance. Continually, to drive another 60 kilometers reach at one “T” intersection, which connects Dawu County in the north, and Yajiang in the south.

There are about 300-400 Tibetan lives in this valley, they are not nomads, but to plant barley, and harvest Cordyceps, mushrooms and other products from the virgin forest that surrounds this valley. There is no public transportation for this village, but hitchhiking or to charter one private vehicle by one mini-bus, which very convenient to be arranged in the town of Xinlong (Nyarong ) county

How to get to there


Larima village is about 63 kilometers from Xinlong County. The nearest airport is Garze Gesar airport, from which it takes about 3 hours drive to reach Xinlong township.

There is no bus to this hidden village, the chartered vehicle is the only option for the moment; the 63 kilometers to this village crossing over two passes that over 4,500 meters, the whole journey takes about 2 hours’ drive.

To rent a vehicle is very convenient in the town of Xinlong (Nyarong) county, it usually costs RMB 700.00 – 800.00 for a round trip journey in one day
