Kangding heavy snow has caused roadblock in between Xinduqiao and Kangding. It began from 24^th Apr that it snows a little, it did not stop, and it is getting heavier. Till last night, the Mount Dzatuo has been blocked by the snow, more than 200 people are trapped by the snow, or have to stay in Xinduqiao.

Local authority has activated the urgent rescue plan, more than 100 police and 20 vehicles have been sent to Mount Dzetuo in order to provide emergency medical aid and providing hot food and beverage for those whom are trapped passengers, drivers;

There are two roads connect Kangding and Tagong, one of those is Kangding / Zonglu road, which has been implemented traffic control; Another road is Kangding /Mount Dzetuo/Tagong, which is partly used for those of which are capable to be driven on snow road, such as 4 wheel drive;

According to local weather forecast department that the snow will stop on 29^th Apr, temperature will return to 5-10 degrees from current -4 to -10 degrees. The trapped passenger are hope to be back on their way of journey safely after Apr 29^th

Kanze flights have been recently restored by the major airports of Yading airport and Kangding airport. The restored flights including flights to Hangzhou, Lhasa and Chongqing. Restored flights are:
–1), 5 flights on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday from Daocheng – Chongqing – Hangzhou and return;
–2), 2 flights on Tuesday and Saturday from Kangding – Chongqing – Hangzhou and return
–3), Daily flight from Chengdu – Kangding – Lhasa and return

Kanze airport is built at the site that is 8-9 kilometers from the township of Kanze (Garze) which was the capital town of Kanze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, now the capital has been moved to Kangding. Its county extends from the lower region of Yi-chu valley and Rongpatsa township as far as the Latseka watershed pass (also known as Dresel La) in Trehor. The county capital is located at Kanze town, 95 kilometers east of Manigango, and 93 kilometers NW of Luhuo.

This new airport will become the 3^rd airport of Kham – the western Sichuan. The two other airports are Kangding airport and Daocheng airport; 2017 is the year that Kanze airport will be on testing for flight landing and take off; It is planned to be activated within 2018. With the opening of this airport, the trip to the remote Kham will be much more easier than ever;

Mount Everest climbing season comes when it is getting warmer. April is almost the start of this climbing season every year. In 2017, there are more than 300 mountaineers whom have filed their climbing plan to Tibet Mountaineering Association. Including Mt Everest, Mt Choyo and Mt Xi-xia-bang-ma

“The best time to reach the top is the last week of May, because conducive weather factors are forecast in this period,” according to an experience Tibetan mountaineer.

Tibet Yak Museum reopen on Apr 18^th. It was closed for the yak-culture exhibition which was held in the Capital Museum in the middle of October 2016

Tibet Yak Museum covers an area of 8000 square meters and it was opened 3 years ago. There are four major exhibition halls which are Gratitude Hall, Yak Exploration Hall, Accompany Hall and Yak Hall.

The goal of building this museum is to introduce the origin and domestication of yak, and how Tibetan lives with yak, in terms of nature and science, history and humanity, as well as spirit and art.As to be a national nonprofit permanent institution, Tibet Yak Museum opens to public for free. This museum opens 6 days a week. Monday is the only day that this museum is closed. Smoking is forbidden in the all visiting areas,

Video or photography is not allowed in general, unless you have permission which is authorized by the related personal of Tibet Yak Museum

2017 Tibet Mountain Bike Race, is also the 5^th Basum Lake (Basum tso) Mountain Bike Race will be held on April 30^th of 2017. This race will last 3 days, in which player will be riding along Basum Lake, a lake is located in Nyingchi county, and with altitude of over 3600 meters above sea level. A certain physical condition is required for such a high altitude bike racing.

The track is almost 100 kilometers. It begins at the entrance gate of Basum Lake, and ends at Jie-ba Village on the first day; The second day, the race will be begun from Jie-ba village and return to the finish of Basum Lake’s gate again

Tibet train is also called “Qinghai-Tibet railway’ or “Qing Zang Railway”. It is a high-altitude railway that connects Xining and Lhasa. The highest point of this train is at Tanggula Pass, which is about 5070 meters above sea level. The Tanggula Train station is about 5060 meters that is thought to be the highest railway station opn this planet by far. The tunnel of Feng-huo-shan is about 1338 meters long, and 4905 meters above sea level. In total, there are about 675 bridges and 550 kilometers rail is laid on permafrost.
