Amdo Festival (FA01)
This trip provides a close up look at an annual festival in Amdo, held between 15th – 28th of June in the Chinese Lunar calendar. Based in Tongren a small little town that sits in the heartland of Amdo. The small river valley is crowded with countless monasteries, among the greatest are the Longwu, Upper and Lower Wutun, and the great Stupa at Gopmar. It homes the best artists you will ever find in the whole Tibetan world. If you love art, you need to come here to experience the feast of colors. It’s magical.

Itinerary
Day 2 Beijing, today you will visit to Tiananen Square, Forbidden City, and the Temple of Haven.
Day 3 Beijing to Xining: Flying to Xining, after arrival, you will take vehicle directly driving to Kumbum monastery, which is one of the greatest 6 biggest monasteries of Yellow Hat of Tibetan Religion.
Day 4 Xining to Tongren: This is a full day drive, you will arrive in Tongren in the evening, En route you will enjoy the nature view of eastern of Amdo.
Day 5 & 6 Tongren – to witness festival: During your stay in Tongren, you will pay a visit to Rongpo Gonchen monastery, the principal monastery of Tongren, it was originally constructed in 1301 by the Sakyapa master Sangda Rinchen, later it was re-constituted as a Gelukpa monastery by Shar Kalden Gyatso during the 16th century, it is currently has 9 temples and housed 400 monks. Then to enjoy the festival of local nomads, which attracts people from all over Amdo and some part of the eastern Tibet.
Day 7 Tongren to Labrang monastery: This is a day for driving to Labrang monastery, en route we will appreciate the stunning view of nature.
Day 8 Labrang monastery: Today you will visit to Labrang monastery, which is of the Gelukpa’s Six great monasteries of Tibetan religion, it was founded in 1709 by Jamyang Zhepa I, who was revered as an emanation of Tsong-Khapa’s teacher.
Day 9 Labrang monastery to Lanzhou: Departure in the morning, the highway between Labrang to Lanzhou ensure this drive is within 3h, in the afternoon, visit to Lanzhou Yellow river Iron bridge.
Day 10 Lanzhou to Beijing: Transfer to the airport for the morning flight, and after arrival of Beijing, Transfer to hotel, afternoon we will take Hutong tour by Rickshaw.
Day 11 Beijing: In the morning, drive to visit The Great wall of Mutianyu part, in the afternoon return to Beijing to visit to Temple of Heaven.
Day 12 Beijing to the airport for departure.
